The width of the strip
Measured across the flat face of the spring, in mm (0.80–1.70 in this series). It must fit the inside height of the barrel — this is the one measurement that has to match.

Shop white-alloy watch mainsprings by height, thickness and length. Every size is listed in both metric (mm) and Dennison gauge, so you can match the spring in the barrel or the number on the old packet. Filter to your measurement, set a quantity and add to cart — no scrolling through a flat list.
Tip: match height first (it must fit the barrel), then thickness, then the closest length.

A mainspring is specified by three measurements. Here is what each one means so you order the right spring the first time.
Measured across the flat face of the spring, in mm (0.80–1.70 in this series). It must fit the inside height of the barrel — this is the one measurement that has to match.
The gauge of the steel, in mm (0.055–0.115 here). Thicker means more torque; too thick and the movement over-banks, too thin and it loses amplitude. Stay as close to original as you can.
Total uncoiled length in mm (200–380 in this series). Length sets how many turns the barrel holds; a small difference is usually acceptable when height and thickness match.
Height × thickness × length. Height is the width of the strip and must match the inside of the barrel. Thickness sets the torque, and length sets how many turns the barrel stores. The chart gives each in millimetres with the Dennison gauge equivalent beside it.
Match height first, then thickness, then pick the nearest length — a small difference in length is usually acceptable. If height or thickness differ from the original, email support@timeconnectioninc.com with the caliber and we will check the fit before you order.
